Middleton Township, Wood County and State of Ohio officials joined representatives of Meta at Bowling Green State University this morning to reveal the company as the purveyor of the data center currently under construction in the vicinity of State Routes 25 and 582.
The parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp is investing $800 million in the project, which will be known as the Bowling Green Data Center. The initial phase of the facility will include 715,000 square feet of data storage buildings as well as accessory structures, and employee 1,000 construction workers at the peak of project. Once completed, it will employ 100 full-time workers at an average salary in the mid $80,000s
